Thranekær continues its growth journey as Ingeniørgruppen becomes part of Thranekær effective 1 May 2026. Ingeniørgruppen is an engineering consultancy with offices in Varde, Vejen and Holstebro and a strong professional profile within areas such as building, civil engineering and utilities. With more than 60 years of experience, the company brings both specialised expertise and strong local relationships.

With the acquisition, 35 employees from Ingeniørgruppen will join Thranekær, which will then number 220 employees. The takeover is another step in the company’s growth since its establishment in the summer of 2025 and is intended to support the ambition of building a nationwide engineering consultancy with partner-led management, local decision-making power and a high degree of freedom for employees. Growth will continue to be driven both organically and through further acquisitions.

We are delighted to welcome Ingeniørgruppen to Thranekær. It is a well-run company with strong professional expertise, strong local client relationships and a culture that matches our own really well. The acquisition is another important step on the growth journey we are on, where we are building a nationwide engineering consultancy with strong local environments, high professional standards and a high degree of freedom close to our clients,” says Thomas Bolding Rasmussen, CEO of Thranekær.

Freedom and professional expertise as the foundation

When Thranekær was founded in July last year, it was as a counterpoint to the established industry and with the goal of creating one of the industry’s best workplaces, built on simplicity and high professional standards.

Talented people are the industry’s scarce resource, and the acquisition is an important step in our work to create the industry’s best workplace. For us, it is about trust in our employees’ professional expertise and a simple organisation that leaves room for responsibility, ownership and closeness to our clients. That creates both job satisfaction and strong results,” says Thomas Bolding Rasmussen.

Ingeniørgruppen and the company’s five partners have seen a clear match in culture and values, and in the wish to create strong professional environments without KPIs and heavy central management.

We are very excited to become part of Thranekær. From the very beginning, we have experienced a strong match, both culturally and professionally, and that has been crucial for us. Thranekær’s partner-led model and focus on local roots and freedom for employees gives us a strong foundation for developing the company further and opens new opportunities for our employees,” says Lasse Bæk Olesen, CEO and partner at Ingeniørgruppen.

Ingeniørgruppen will in time change its name to Thranekær. The five partners will remain in the company, and the takeover will not change everyday life for either employees or clients.
