AI – from sci-fi and Big Tech to value creation in SMEs while dealing with uncertainty and disinformation

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionising the landscape for all business, including private equity (PE) and small-to-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by enabling levels of efficiency, innovation, and market insight.

While the potential for value creation in business is substantial, the adoption of generative AI also poses significant risks in a broader sense, particularly in terms of disinformation, the propagation of alternative truths, and the potential undermining of democratic processes.

At CataCap Day 2024 we set out to explore the potential for AI to step change efficiency gains and innovation, accelerate development cycles and enhance decision making in SMEs and we will exhibit inspiring, concrete cases of achievements already made.

Equally, we will shed light on some of the risks posed by the proliferation of AI, notably as a source of uncertainty and disruption in business as well as the abuse of this powerful technology to foster “alternative truths” and undermine democratic processes.

Prominent business leaders, politicians and thought leaders will share their knowledge and cases to help us gain a holistic understanding of the risks and opportunities in the adoption of AI.
